FACE Initiative collaborationadvocacycapacity building

FACE Initiative is empowering marginalized groups, especially women and youth to participate in decision making process and strengthening institutions for policy reforms through enlightenment, capacity building, advocacy and collaboration.

FACE Initiative

FACE Initiative was founded in 2010 and incorporated with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) on 4 July 2013 (CAC/IT/No. 62317). The organization was established to strengthen local civil agency to bridge the gap between grassroots communities and decision-makers, promoting inclusive, participatory governance and preventing top-down development approaches that often marginalize vulnerable groups, particularly women and youth.

FACE Initiative creates opportunities for grassroots participation in decision-making, environmental protection, and community development to promote peace, social inclusion, and sustainable development.

What we do

FACE Initiative works with communities, civil society organizations (CSOs), government institutions, and development partners to promote gender equality, social justice, good governance, environmental sustainability, and inclusive development.

Governance
We promote inclusive governance by amplifying the voices of marginalized groups, particularly women, youth, and persons with disabilities, and strengthening their participation in decision-making, democratic governance, and electoral processes. We also collaborate with CSOs and government institutions to advocate for policy reforms, transparency, accountability, and responsive governance.

Gender Equality and Social Justice
We work with women, men, girls, boys, and formal and informal institutions to address gender inequalities, eliminate discriminatory practices, and promote human rights, equal opportunities, diversity, inclusion, and social justice for all.

Environment and Climate Justice
We support communities to strengthen environmental conservation and sustainable natural resource management while promoting climate resilience. We facilitate community-led actions to address the impacts of climate change, oil pollution, poor waste management, biodiversity loss, and environmental degradation.

Sustainable Livelihoods
We enhance the resilience of vulnerable populations by removing barriers to economic opportunities and improving access to skills development, financial inclusion, market opportunities, information, and productive resources. Our interventions enable individuals and communities to build sustainable livelihoods and reduce poverty.

Peace and Security
We promote peaceful, resilient, and inclusive communities through dialogue, conflict prevention, mediation, and consensus-building. We integrate the principles of the United Nations Security Council Resolutions (UNSCR) 1325 on Women, Peace and Security and UNSCR 2250 on Youth, Peace and Security into our programmes to strengthen inclusive peacebuilding and sustainable community security.
